Attendance Office

(248) 658-2031 – Office hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Attendance/Tardy Rules
  • Late Arrivals or Early Dismissals.
    1. ALWAYS check in Attendance Office, when arriving after school has started.
    2. ALWAYS check out with Attendance Office, when leaving before school lets out.
    3. Failure to do this will earn the student a detention
  • Tardies for First Class – Per Semester
      1. First five tardies of a semester for the first class are “free”.
      2. Tardies after the 5th will result in getting a detention for each one up to the 10th tardy.
      3. After the 10th tardy a suspension will be issued and all grades will be lowered for the quarter.
    • Definition of First Hour Tardy and First Hour Absences
      1. A student is tardy for first class if they are 15 minutes late.
      2. A student is absent for the first class if they are later then 15 minutes. A call is required by a parent by 9:00 a.m. for absences. If no call, the student receives an unexcused absence and detention.
      3. On days ending at 11:30 a.m., 7 minutes late is a tardy; after 7 minutes the student is considered absent.
    • Tardies for All Other Classes – Per Quarter
      1. A student is tardy if she/he reports to class after the bell, but within the first 7 minutes of class. It is then considered an unexcused absent after 7 minutes. Four unexcused tardies gets the student a detention.
      2. Three unexcused tardies in the same class result in the grade lowered in that class at the quarter. Work cannot be made up for unexcused absence. (See Handbook for Skips).
    • All Day Absences
      1. When a student is absent from school, parents must call by 9:00 a.m. of that day.
      2. An unexcused absence is recorded if a call is not received.
    • Loss of Credit Due to Absences
      1. Absences in any class after the accepted ten per semester will result in the lowering of the quarter grade for that course. After twelve absences, the student may lose credit. VERY IMPORTANT – See Attendance Policy in the Handbook for complete details.
