Science Olympiad is a rising star at Foley. It is a science-based competition between schools in Oakland County as well as across the state. It covers all 5 realms of science in 23 different events. Students work together with teammates in building events and testing events that encompasses Biology, Chemistry, Astronomy, Physics, Robotics, Engineering, Anatomy and working as a team. Science Olympiad has been around for more than 25 years and is in every state except 2. It is held in high regard with colleges – in fact there is even a Science Olympiad Participant box to check on college applications. Michigan State is the state sponsor and looks very favorably upon applicants who have participated in SO. We participate in Invitational’s around the state as well as host our own to help cover the costs of the items necessary to compete each year. We welcome any student who likes any form of science, or wished to learn more about science to help further their knowledge. Even if you participate in sports, drama, debate, etc…you can still join Science Olympiad.
