“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your selves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” ~Matthew 11:28-30
Mission & Ministry at Bishop Foley Catholic High School seeks to build a Christian community among the students and staff of the school that is grounded in the Catholic tradition. It seeks to invite the school community to deepen their faith through regular celebrations of Mass, dynamic retreats, prayer, and community building projects. The Mission & Ministry Team is a cross-section of students and staff that meet regularly with the Mission & Ministry Director to promote a faith-based vision in the school community and to plan the activities that are described below.
We strive to spread the light of Christ outside of the walls of Bishop Foley Catholic into the greater community. We offer a ministry of presence by being available in times of crises or difficulty to listen, comfort, counsel and care for individuals and their family members in their time of need. We are committed to serving the community, and do so by requiring our students to perform service hours. We also act as the “Foley Family” on our annual Be the Difference Day, in which all students, faculty, and staff spend a day doing service throughout the Metro Detroit area. Lastly, the needs of our students, staff, alumni and their families are prayed for by the school community for a period of a month. To add someone to this prayer list, please email the Mission & Ministry office the full name of the person to be prayed for, the relationship of the person to Foley, and the reason for prayer.
