Dear Parents, Friends, Neighbors and Alumni:
This Fall, during one week in late September, a large container will be placed near the recycling containers in the main student parking lot. This container will be dropped off to collect donations for St. Vincent de Paul. Every Catholic high school in the Archdiocese of Detroit is given the opportunity to participate and it is our turn. The "winning" school (most brought in per pound) will win the annual Charity Bowl but more important we can help people in need. As Paul writes in Galatians:
“All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.” Galatians 2:10
This is what you can do to help the Society of St.Vincent de Paul:
Take a minute to go through your family's closet and find articles of clothing, coats, shoes and boots and outdoor accessories to donate sometime the week that the bin arrives. The container will be weighed and the "heaviest" container will be given the traveling trophy until October 2019 so let us show the true spirit of Bishop Foley Catholic and fill that bin. If we can fill the bin and win the Charity Bowl each student and administrator will receive a t-shirt acknowledging the honor.
Nothing is too small a donation. Have your friends and family collect as well. Fill the bin and we all win!
