 Week of November 12

If you have been near the gym after school you may have heard all the shouting and laughing, now you can see what it is all about. The Drama Ensemble will be presenting "The Imaginary Invalid" Nov. 16 and 17 at 7 pm here at Bishop Foley. It is a very funny play about a man who thinks he is sick and how his family deals with it. Tickets are $7 for students. Please come support your fellow students!

 

 

Want to join the Forensics team? Ms. Sharp will be holding an interest meeting Tuesday. November 13th after school in the Media Center! Forensics is competitive debate and acting! We would love you to join!

Are you interested in a fun service hour opportunity? Volunteers are needed on Tuesday, November 20 to assemble gift bags for Guardian Angels St. Nicholas Day celebration. We will meet in the Cafe from 3 to 3:30. Interested? See Ms. Hursin.

 

 

Attention all students, the next opportunity for SPIRIT POINTS is here! Student Council is hosting a donation drive to benefit the Oakland County Children's Village. From November 12th-16th, that's THIS WEEK, students will be in the cafeteria before school to collect any items you might have. What items are being accepted you ask? Anything new or GENTLY used related to arts, crafts, and recreation, like board games, acrylic paints, coloring supplies, playing cards, basketballs, and much more. A complete list of items to bring in can be found on posters throughout the halls. Happy donating!

 

 

Adam Dixon has been selected as student of the week for being an ambassador to VIP students. He was nominated by Mrs. Sharp. Congratulations Adam. Come see Mr. Madsen for your award.

 

 

Sports announcements for Monday, November 12th

This past weekend, the Ventures were at the Catholic League Championships on Friday and Saturday.  The team finished 6th, scoring 115 points, setting a new school record and making a state cut. Danielle Tews made states and set the 100 Backstroke record with a time of 1:02.71 placing 9th.  She also placed 11th for the 200 IM. Sabrina Causley was 15th in 200 free and 15th in 50 free. Anna Galbenski was 15th in both the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.

 

Girls Basketball starts today as the team has their first practice after school in the gymnasium.

 

Wrestling starts today with their first practice at 5 PM in the field house.

 

Bowling starts tomorrow with their first practice at Astro Lanes in Royal Oak at 3:30 PM.

 

November 13

Attention Seniors: Today is the last day to sign up for the Grand Valley State University visit plus onsite admissions. Please submit your Googleform to Mrs. Peurach by 4 p.m. today to attend tomorrow’s presentation and admission event.

Each student who turns their tickets in on time will receive a free jeans day, date to be determined by administration. ALSO, the class with the highest percentage of monies brought in wins spirit points towards a day off school. So if you haven't already, get your raffle tickets in to the main office!

 

 

Attention anyone who loves to help others! Mission and Ministry Club is holding a meeting this Wednesday, November 14th from 3-330 in Mr. Pullis' classroom! Bring ideas for Christmas and Advent giving and maybe a friend or two! Hope to see you there!

We have received the results of the Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition. Bishop Foley has 3 students that have qualified for part two. Congratulations to Adriana Garmo, Elizabeth Powers and Kevin Kendro. Kevin earned the highest score at Foley. Part II of this competition will be held in December.

 

Congratulations also to the following students who will be recognized at our honor awards assembly in May. The top 9th grade student at Foley was Emma Green and the top 10th grade student was Dominic Childs.

 

Thank you to all the students who participated in this challenging math test. You will receive your scores this week.

 

 

Volunteers are needed this Thursday after school to fold mass worship aides. Please see Ms. Hursin to sign up.

It's today! That's right, the fall play "The Imaginary Invalid" will be presented tonight and tomorrow here at Foley. Curtain time is 7 pm and student tickets are $7 and available at the door. It cost less than a movie! Hope to see you there.
