Bishop Foley Catholic has two counselors to assist students with the guidance counseling. Mr. Swanson is the 9th and 10th grade counselor. See the reference materials below for more details on a variety of topics.
Foley strives to have a smooth and successful transition from middle school to high school. The counselor meets with students individually to review their four year plan. Part of this plan includes mapping out class selection and discussions about career options. Classroom guidance lessons are also provided to help students with test preparation, academics, social adjustment, and career/college interests.
In the tenth grade, the focus turns towards the start and preparation for the decisions that will need to be made after high school. Each student meets with the counselor individually to continue discussions about their four year plan. Discussions will also begin to focus more on college options and career interests, along with standardized test preparation and social development.
The following documents below have been created as a resource to help with the high school transition process and building a solid educational plan.
