BFC Football defeats Detroit University Prep Science & Math

It was a performance for the ages by Navy Commit, Kendel Taylor, who had 21 carries for 339 yards, 1 reception for 55 yards and 6 touchdowns (5 rushing, 1 receiving). In of itself all of that is impressive but to add to the feat Kendel accomplished it all in the 1st half. Kendel would be the first one to give credit though to his teammates and especially his lineman. The line led by Jerry Thayer, Aiden Tierney, Zach Proctor, and Griffin Connert opened up big holes for Kendel to make plays.
The night also saw a 52 yard run by Sr. Benji Alderson. Benji came on to run a wildcat package for the Ventures offense and had great success. Earlier in the game Benji had a pick 6 as he returned an errant Cobra pass 40 yards to the house. Starting Quarterback Jr. Braden Mussat threw for 2 touchdowns including a 60 yard score by Jr. Klayton Cornell as he tight-roped down the sideline for the 6 points. Joey Laino had 7 extra points in the effort.
The defense played strong against the high throwing offense of DUPSM. Griffin Connert was all over the field for the Ventures with big hit after big hit. Cooper Harbowy and Matt Brady had interceptions while Lucas Juricic had an excellent game for the team.
After the win Coach Barnes had this to say, "We are just trying to get 2% better than we were yesterday." With the win the team moves to 2-0 on the season.
The team will travel to Burton Bendle for their first road test of the year next Friday, September 7th. Kickoff is 7 PM against the Tigers.
