High School Placement Test

The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is a measure of a student’s basic abilities and educational achievement. This test is required as part of the admission process for all 8th grade students planning to attend a Catholic high school. Bishop Foley Catholic uses applicants’ test scores to aid in proper placement within our curriculum, as well as scholarships. Further honors placement testing will be offered in the spring based on HSPT scores.

Bishop Foley Catholic offers the HSPT four times throughout the academic year. Each student may only take the exam once. Families will register to take the HSPT at the high school of their choice through the online portal below. Submitting payment online ahead of time will expedite the check-in process the day of your student’s exam.

HSPT Prep Workshop

Bishop Foley Catholic hosts HSPT Prep Workshops each fall on our campus for 8th graders. Highly qualified Bishop Foley Catholic faculty members teach the workshops, providing advice on valuable testing tips as well as strategies to score well and avoid common mistakes.

All 8th graders are invited to attend our 2023 HSPT Prep Workshop on Saturday, October 14 from 9:00–11:30 AM at BFC. This session includes access to sample questions, strategies and testing materials for additional practice. Online registration is required to attend and will open soon.
