Alumni Spotlights
Alumni Spotlight: Michael Ruzycki, BFC 1991
This May, we’re celebrating Michael Ruzycki — business owner, proud father, and true Foley Venture. From bleacher duty to public speaking, Michael’s Foley experience helped
shape his work ethic, faith, and confidence. Today, he runs Green Lantern Pizza in Bloomfield, owns a successful promo products company, and stays connected to our community as a Foley
parent.
His advice for students? Be bold, stay curious, and always introduce yourself—you never know who you'll meet.
Alumni Spotlight: Michael Cabrera, BFC 1988
A dedicated clinical social worker, alumni board member and parent of three Ventures, Michael credits Foley for reinforcing his Catholic faith and inspiring his life of service. From football
Fridays to theology class, his time at Foley shaped the values he carries into his career, family life, and community involvement. Today, he encourages students to knock on the chapel door,
trust in God’s plan, and embrace the opportunities Foley offers—because you never know where they might lead.
Alumni Spotlight: Gregory Zub, BFC 1992
Greg has built a thriving career in wealth management, crediting his Foley education for shaping his values, work ethic, and commitment to service. From legendary Friday night dances in "The
Pit" to lifelong friendships, Greg’s time at Foley gave him more than just an education—it gave him a foundation for success. Now, he encourages students and alumni to stay
connected, give back, and be “that” person who reaches out and supports others.
Alumni Spotlight: Kelly Scaccia, BFC 1992
A talented photographer, creative entrepreneur, and dedicated member of the Foley Alumni Board, Kelly embodies the values of BFC in both her professional and personal life. From meeting her
husband, David Scaccia (‘91), at Foley to seeing the lasting impact of Catholic education in her own children’s lives, Kelly’s journey is a testament to the power of faith,
community, and lifelong connections. She continues to give back by helping plan reunions and staying deeply involved in the alumni network, ensuring that the spirit of Foley thrives across
generations.
Alumni Spotlight: Kevin Swift, BFC 2007
Now a teacher and mentor at BFC, Kevin has shaped countless students’ lives through his leadership in technology, engineering and the Foley Freeze Robotics team. A passionate advocate
for community and connection, Kevin continues to make FIRST Robotics more accessible to Ventures while inspiring them to dig deeper into their learning. As the Chair of the Alumni Board,
Kevin also plays a key role in fostering strong alumni engagement and giving back to the school he calls home.
Alumni Spotlight: Kaitlyn Chornoby, BFC 2008
Kaitlyn is now Bishop Foley Catholic’s Director of Design & Marketing, where she works to evolve the Foley brand and create meaningful experiences for Ventures past, present, and
future. After studying Graphic Design and Journalism at Oakland University, Kaitlyn built a diverse career, including a role at 89X CIMX as a concert photographer. She
credits her time at BFC — from spirit weeks to robotics and performing arts — with shaping her passions and career.
Alumni Spotlight: Trevor Tyle, BFC 2016
Trevor has recently returned to Bishop Foley Catholic, where he now serves as our Admissions Director. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with minors in Film Studies and Spanish
from Oakland University, Trevor felt called to support the next generation of Ventures here at his alma mater. He attributes much of his personal growth and professional success to the
mentorship of BFC teachers, including Mrs. Marylee Petty and Señora Proctor, who had a lasting impact on his journey.
