We are honored and grateful to shine the spotlight on BFC Alum of 1975, Francis Scislowicz — a beloved teacher, adored coach, and a recent inductee into the Michigan High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame, Class of 2025!

Building the Foundation of Faith

This year is a special one for Fran and his Foley classmates as they celebrate 50 years since graduation! The class marked the occasion with a heartfelt prayer service in honor of their loved ones.

Fran credits Bishop Foley for shaping both his career and his faith journey.

“I could sense my teachers’ passion and commitment to us every day," he shares. "It inspired me to serve and lead through teaching and coaching. Foley gave me a very good foundation to begin my journey toward finding a personal relationship with my Savior, Jesus.”

Memories to Be Grateful For

“Back in the day, one thing all students loved was a live band and the dances we had almost every month throughout the school year,” Fran reminisces.

From homecoming to Sadie Hawkins to prom, these moments built lasting friendships and lifelong bonds. The brotherhood among Fran and his classmates grew even stronger through athletics — especially during football and basketball season.

“Those memories are something Foley gave us, and we will never forget,” Fran says.

Foley for Life

Since graduating, Fran has carried with him Foley’s mission to promote trust, pride, and respect among its community.

“Foley gave us the opportunity to experience ups and downs, to learn about relationships, and to stay strong while supporting one another,” he reflects.

He’s forever grateful to the faculty who taught the importance of hard work, commitment, and perseverance — lessons that have shaped his life and career for decades.

Words of Wisdom

“Be where your feet are! Find joy each and every day you’re with the staff and your friends.

‘Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.’
— 1 Thessalonians 5:11”
