Here is your Thursday special announcement from the Mental Health Team: According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), 31.9% of US adolescents have an anxiety disorder. The stigma around anxiety must be broken in order to provide awareness and assistance.Symptoms of anxiety can be constant nervousness and pounding heartbeats. It is important to be understanding towards those around you. Some ways that you can be a good friend are to be a good listener, check in with them regularly to see how they're doing, ask how you can help or go for a walk together to get some fresh air. Join us at our next mental health meeting on Tuesday, November 12, from 3-3:30 in Mr. Swift's room. We'll be working on a project to encourage others. Studies show that helping others is good for managing your own stress and mental health. Join us!
