"After attending Close Up, I have confidence in saying that I truly feel like a more aware citizen. Aware of the United States' past, present, and potential future. I feel that I have become a more informed individual, and am better prepared to vote and engage in dialogue about current issues and historical events."

— Joey Maddock, BFC '25

"Close Up allowed me to meet and become friends with people from all over the country and allows for civil dialog about topics we usually try to avoid. It was fascinating to listen to different views and perspectives we might not have heard otherwise."

— Ella Casimiro, BFC '24

“The Washington D.C. trip was such an amazing experience for my daughter. She was able to learn in-depth information about our country with kids from all over the country who she befriended on the trip and still remains in contact with. [I] wish she could go again — highly recommend this opportunity to anyone — a once in a lifetime.”

—Kathy Mazawey, BFC Parent
