The next Culinary Club meeting will be Tuesday, January 16th. All are welcome to come - all you need to do is sign up on the culinary website - See the QR code outside of Room 122 for the link. See Miss Hughes with any questions.

Music clubs begin next week! Music Ministry meets Mondays from 3-3:30, Choir Club is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-3:30, and Band Club meets Wednesdays and Fridays—all in the music room. All clubs are currently accepting new and returning members. We hope to see you there!

Today we want to pause and remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the movement for Civil Rights.

Dr. King said: "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."

Each of us has an opportunity to stand up for what is right. We can each treat each other with love and respect and we can each seek to serve one another and build a community of true equality.

Dr. King said in a speech in 1963, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."

On Monday, spend some time spreading light and love by serving your family, neighbors or larger community.

As a way of reflecting on the purpose and values of the Civil Rights Movement, which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and others helped to lead, there is a form in your inbox for you to fill out during homeroom. It’s only 10 questions and we will recognize those who were the most accurate (and the fastest if there is a tie) in each grade level.

Please take a moment to complete the form and think about the values these Civil Rights leaders fought for, because Dr. King did not work alone. How can we continue to move those principles forward? What will you do to serve others and stand up to injustice as we honor the legacy of Dr. King on Monday?
