Do you need some Christmas cheer and time to wind down from the pressure of studying for finals? Come to the Christmas concert here at BFC tomorrow at 7 pm, it can help with both things! It is free to get in and the theme is music from Christmas specials and movies. Take a break from studying and get some Christmas cheer in one spot!

This month's mental health topic is Seasonal Affective Disorder, also known as "SAD". SAD is a specific type of depression that often occurs during the fall and winter months of the year. You may already be familiar if you have heard of, experience, or have a loved one who experiences seasonal depression. SAD's causes include things like lack of sleep and sunlight, and its effects are very similar to those of depression, including social withdrawal, excessive tiredness or fatigue, and weight fluctuation. It is not uncommon to feel down-in-the-dumps this time of year, and Seasonal Affective Disorder can affect anyone -- so, if someone you know experiences depressive symptoms around this time of year, offer them patience and a shoulder to lean on. And if this sounds like you, you're not alone. Some things you could do to improve your situation include regularly getting an adequate amount of sleep, keeping a healthy diet, spending time with loved ones, and giving yourself some grace when you need a break. Remember to be kind -- you never know who around you could be struggling already.

Sports Announcements for Monday, December 8th

This past weekend the BFC Wrestling team competed in the Warren Lincoln Varsity Invitational. A special shout out goes to Isaac Kerkmaz and Michael Ruzycki who both received medals for placing 5th in their respective weight classes, and Eli Sofyan who received a medal for his 2nd place finish. Coach Gonzales is very proud of all the wrestlers, and asks that we keep them all in our thoughts and prayers. The team meets next tomorrow here in the BFC Fieldhouse for a Single Dual meet vs. Lakeland at 6:00pm.

The next student leadership meeting will take place on Tuesday after school in the chapel. It is open to ALL STUDENTS. See Coach Barnes if you have any questions.
