Sports Announcements for Tuesday, October 28, 2025

The Varsity Football team ended their season on a high note by soundly defeating University of Liggett last Friday 17-0. The Defense racked up its second straight shutout, highlighted by four interceptions. Conner Kokenos had two of these interceptions and Luke Jenuwine and Cole Moeller each had one. The defense was tenacious led by Trenton Kanar, Mike Benet, and Andrew Skok. The offensive was led by Robert Gjonaj who had 183 yards rushing with two touchdowns. These yards were assisted by great blocking by Zach Auerbach, Conrad Haack, Dash Sweeney, Eli Sofyan and Jackson Viers. Luke Jenuwine also had an important field goal to help secure the victory!

Cross Country competed at the MHSAA regional meet on Saturday. With only 3 girls running we did not get a team score while the boys finished 11th out of 18 schools. Although we did not qualify for the state meet, several athletes turned in personal or season best times. Jeremy Slotnick had a season best time beating his old season best by over 2 minutes. Grace Sipp and Lorelei Montano set new PR for the girls. Gabe Coraci, Gavin Samona, and Lukas Straske all set new PRs with Gabe running under 18 minutes and Lukas and Gavin both running under 19 minutes. Good job Ventures!

Anyone interested in the Ski and Snowboard Club, there will be an information night meeting this Thursday, Oct 30th at 6pm. If you’re new to skiing or snowboarding, no worries, there are lessons included. Also, don’t worry about conflicting with other sports or clubs. It’s minimal commitment and pays for itself after one or two trips to the ski hill. Come find out what it’s all about!

There will be a meeting on November 7th after school in the cafeteria for anyone interested in wrestling. See Coach Barnes for a wrestling profile sheet or if you have any questions.

Attention Student Athletes: This is a reminder that we will have our next Student Athlete Council Leadership Meeting after school tomorrow in the chapel. See Coach Barnes if you have any questions.
