The Knights of Columbus are running their annual Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest, which is to take place in September. This is an opportunity for 8th through 12th grade Catholic students to participate in civic discourse and instill in them religious and life-affirming values. Participants will write an essay of 500-750 words on a specific topic, which this year is "The rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God." Applications are in the Main Office. Please have filled forms and completed essays to the Main Office no later than September 26th to securely meet the contests September 28th deadline. Prizes will be awarded. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Madsen.

Dance company will have its first meeting today at 3:30pm in the pit/stage area. No experience necessary, if you are interested in dance, come on by!

BFC's Art Club has its first & general interest meeting tomorrow, September 3rd, in Room 128 from 3-3:30pm. Art club offers a variety of art activities and projects for those who are interested, as well as studio work time for students enrolled in art courses here, and opportunities to design and paint on walls around campus and in the community. Last night, the United Swim and Dive team traveled to Troy Athens to take on both Athens and Country Day, defeating both schools 106-70 win over Athens, and 88-74 over Country Day, to bring our record to 2-1 to start the season. Congratulations to Avery Wood on her MHSAA State time cut in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:11.18 and an Oakland County Championship cut in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 26.57. Next up, United Swim and Dive travel to take on Marian at North Hills Middle School on Thursday 9/10 at 6pm.

Yesterday, Boys Soccer took the win against Genesee Christian 3-0. Goals were scored by Max Ensley, Cole Brinkmeier, and Carmelo Martinez. Zack Niphoratos also had a clean sheet, not letting Genesee Christian score. Great Work Ventures!

Tomorrow, both the Boys Soccer Team and Football Team have home games scheduled. Soccer plays at 4:30 pm against Cardinal Mooney, and Football at 7:00 pm against Sacred Heart. The theme for both games is Adam Sandler. A field goal contest will also be taking place during half time of the football game. The 1st place winner goes home with a $50 Chipotle gift card! This is our first home football game of the season, so show up, dress the theme, and get all your friends to go. We want our student section to be full and as loud as possible!

Lady Ventures, are you interested in competing in the Senior vs. Junior Powderpull game during Homecoming week? It is one of the many events planned throughout the school year that people always enjoy. Please fill out the interest forms sent to your emails by your class captains as soon as possible.
